Transportation
This operation consists of both Crescents’ asset and non-asset operations that directly support its stand-alone distribution, embedded or plant support operations. The asset based transportation operations typically are dedicated to a client’s activities within their supply chain or the non-asset operations utilizing Crescents’ core TL, LTL and small package carriers to manage the final distribution process.
Crescent often customizes its asset based fleet operations around clients’ specific requirements and needs, especially under the Embedded Distribution and Plant Support Operations. The goal is to optimize the dedicated fleet, reducing empty miles and driver utilization. These operations also consist of yard management, shuttle services and container hauling.
Crescent may also manage the entire back end of a client's supply chain through its non-asset brokerage business, utilizing regional and national TL, LTL, and small package carriers, managing from arranging pickups to final invoicing and carrier claims.
